To The Dogs Fiction (TTDF) is a new site that focuses on pieces of fiction, poetry, and personal essays that agents and competition judges often overlook.
Good writing and good storytelling sometimes don’t fit a current market niche or a clever marketing scheme, but their message still resonates. TTDF’s mission is to find those pieces and give both them and their creators a forum. There are no prizes here, no entry fees-at least not yet-and it’s largely peer-reviewed (more on that below). It’s a barebones operation that I hope to make work.
Currently, the site is streamlined, with pages to be added as content is added from other authors. For information on submitting a piece to the site, see our Submission guidelines.
- The Dog Pound: This is the place where new fiction lives. You can find titles below. In time, the page will support comments, once I figure out how to do it.
- The Kennel: This is the home of fiction that’s experimental and more risky. The fiction here works with themes that usually aren’t found in polite literary journals. In time, the page will support comments, once I figure out how to do it.
- Submissions: This section provides details on word counts, what I’m looking for, time frames, the email address for submissions, and a contact form. My goal is to eventually have a better way to submit work, but, the website is a learning curve for me.
- Buried Bones: This section contains pieces that have been archived.
In The Dog Pound today is: The Bush Didn’t Burn & Opening Day
In The Kennel today is: Cowboys and Girls, Red Rover & The Velcro Chasuble
